Tangerine Light

Perfect for cozy K-drama marathons, reconnecting with family, or pausing to reflect on the people who shaped you

About the Recipe

Inspired by When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025), this Jeju-forward mocktail is soft, sweet, and full of quiet warmth. Barley tea adds an earthy backbone, while tangerine and yuzu bring brightness and heart. Tangerine Light is what you'd sip while flipping through old photo albums or holding onto a moment that feels like home.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz Jeju tangerine juice (or fresh-squeezed satsuma/tangerine)

  • 1 oz barley tea (cold brewed for a nutty base)

  • ½ oz honey yuzu syrup (or honey + yuzu juice)

  • Soda water

  • Optional: ½ oz soju or unfiltered sake for low-ABV version

Instructions

Step 1

Mix tangerine juice, barley tea, and honey yuzu syrup in a glass with ice.

Step 2

Stir gently until chilled and integrated.

Step 3

Top with soda water.

Step 4

Garnish and serve with a soft smile.

Tips

  • No yuzu? Use lemon juice with a touch of orange zest

  • Barley tea adds earthy depth that makes this more grounded than your average citrus drink

  • Feeling cozy? Serve warm in a mug (skip the ice, gently heat the tea + juice + honey)

Serving Tips

Glass: Stoneware mug or clear tumbler

Garnish: Dehydrated citrus slice or Jeju-style tangerine peel twist

Vibe: Wooden table, soft light, a gentle breeze from an open window
