Just One Gold Star

Perfect for finishing a task that’s been haunting your to-do list for weeks now relaxing by the sunset

About the Recipe

You know the feeling — that quiet victory after finally crossing off the task that’s been haunting your to-do list for weeks. As the sun dips low and paints everything gold, Just One Gold Star is the perfect companion: bright, citrusy, and gently celebratory without being loud. I made this after organizing my desktop folders — not glamorous, but deeply satisfying. The kind of win that deserves a soft cheer... and a perfect sip at sunset.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice

  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur (or elderflower cordial for mocktail)

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • ½ oz honey syrup (1:1 honey + warm water)

  • Sparkling water to top

  • Ice

Instructions

Step 1

Shake juice, elderflower, lime, and honey with ice.

Step 2

Strain into a glass with ice.

Step 3

Top with sparkling water and give it a gentle stir.

Tips

  • Zero-proof: Use elderflower cordial instead of liqueur.

  • Make it floral-er: Add a few drops of orange blossom water.

  • Seasonal twist: Sub grapefruit with blood orange in winter or yuzu juice if you’ve got it.

  • Pair with: That freshly-checked-off to-do list or a deep sigh of “I did it.”

Serving Tips

Glass: Tall tumbler or stemless wine glass

Garnish: Tiny edible flower or grapefruit twist

Vibe: Calm, capable, and kind of proud of yourself
